We are a dedicated team of dental professionals, providing excellent care and highly skilled dental treatments. All the members of our clinical team are registered with the General Dental Council. All our dentists adhere to the rules governing the profession under strict guidance from the General Dental Council (GDC) “Standards for Dental Professionals”.

Dr Muhammad Arshad

Muhammad graduated in 2002 and was awarded Licentiate in Dental Surgery by The Royal College of Surgeons of England by extensive training and examinations. Muhammad’s area of special interest is restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Muhammad is certified Invisalign Dentist.

Eleni graduated with DDS from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2010. She completed her foundation training (Orthodontics and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) in 2011 at East Sussex and Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust and following this she was appointed as a speciality dentist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the same trust 2011-2015.

During 2011-2015 she successfully completed an MSc in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a PGCert in Implantology at Eastman Dental Institute, UCL.In 2015 she gained her specialty training post in Oral Surgery at Edinburgh Dental Institute, (2015-2018), and since March 2019 was appointed as a Consultant Oral Surgeon at the same institute.

Eleni enjoys teaching and training all aspect of oral surgery to postgraduate trainees at the Edinburgh Dental Institute. She is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and she is currently working towards the completion of her Doctoral degree in stem cell research. Eleni provides all the range of oral surgery procedures for both children and adults.

Dr Luke Bowen

Luke graduated from his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with a distinction from Queen’s University Belfast in 2015 before moving to Scotland to commence his Vocational training year. 

After completing his Vocational training year, he then undertook 3 years of post-graduate Dental Core Training (DCT) in the Specialties of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at number of hospitals across the west of Scotland. After his Dental Core Training he was employed as a clinical fellow in
OMFS at St.John’s hospital.

Following this he was appointed as a Specialty Dentist in OMFS for NHS Lanarkshire where he has worked as a senior member of the team ever since, gaining Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons in Physicians in Glasgow (RCPSG) as well as being given
honorary clinical lecturer status at the University of Glasgow. He is a member of the British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS) and the British Dental Association (BDA)

Throughout his career, Luke has been dedicated to improving both his clinical and non-clinical skill through training and education having completed; an Advanced Certificate in clinical education with the RCPSG,  the NHS Scotland Leadership and Management programme, 2A and 2B certificate in
CBCT reporting with the RCPSG, sedation training, and an Advanced Life Support certification with the RSCUK.

Outside of his clinical work, when he finds time in his schedule as a new father, you will likely find Luke in one of the following places: running along the water of Leith, climbing the Pentland hills,  foraging in the forest for gourmet wild mushrooms, in the kitchen cooking said mushrooms for his
wife/son or singing and playing guitar.

 

Dr Vasileios Lyris

Vasileios graduated from the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague obtaining his MDDr in 2012.

He worked for 3 years in Athens, Greece as a general dentist and he served his military service in the Hellenic Army Sanitary Corps for almost a year as a Dentist Soldier with the rank of Corporal. Since 2016 he moved to Edinburgh where he trained for 3 years in Oral Surgery and obtained his Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Surgery) from the University of Edinburgh. The past years he has been working as a Specialty Doctor in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Department of both Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy and Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline. Since his graduation from dental school, he has attended multiple courses on dental implants, guided bone regeneration and has conducted published research on Leukocyte and Platelet Rich Fibrin applications in implant dentistry. Vasileios provides all the range of oral surgery procedures for both children and adults.

Dr. Abdullah Alkalaly

Dr. Alkalaly’s international experience and extensive post-graduate education reflect his passion for providing the best care for his patients.
He graduated in 1999 with honor from Cairo University and worked in private practice in Cairo as a dentist with a special interest in orthodontics.  
 He has always had the goal of becoming a highly qualified and skilled orthodontist. He undertook a Craniofacial Fellowship in Taiwan in 2003 with a focus on cleft and surgical patients from an orthodontic perspective. He then moved to Japan where he had orthodontic postgraduate studies and participated in several research projects which were published in international journals. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Orthodontics at the University of Hong Kong in 2011. After obtaining his Ph.D.  he worked as an orthodontic Specialist in Qatar’s top hospital for a few years before carrying out a 3- years Doctor degree in clinical dentistry in orthodontic at Edinburgh. He was awarded the Prestigious Narin Wailson Medal for clinical and Academics excellence from Edinburgh Dental institutes for 2017.

Dr. Alkalaly has Membership (by examination) in Orthodontics of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Australia.
Dr. Alkalaly also holds a Master’s degree in Health Informatics awarded jointly by the University of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh which aims to improve healthcare through the application of Health Information Technology (HIT) and   information science to health care delivery.

He has previously worked in various Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery departments across Scotland, initially as a trainee and subsequently as a Specialty Doctor. He provides the full range of oral surgery treatment for children and adults.

Panos enjoys providing teaching for postgraduate students and trainees at the Edinburgh Dental Institute and conducting research in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh.

Dr Wadood Ur Rehman (BDS)

Wadood is a general dentist and is a very valuable member of our team. Wadood qualified in 2011, holds a wealth of experience, and was awarded a postgraduate Diploma in general dentistry from Queen Mary University London in 2014. Wadood’s area of special interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment).

Dr Rania Savvidi

Facial Aesthetic Dentist
Rania grew up and studied in Greece. After graduating from Dental School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, she worked for 5 years in Athens before moving to Scotland in 2011.

Passionate about continuous learning, Rania qualified in Facial Aesthetics treatments in 2012 and in 2017 she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Sedation and Pain Management from Eastman Dental Institute, UCL. Passionate about facial aesthetics for almost a decade, she is also doing Master degree in Clinical Aesthetic Non-Surgical Interventions with the City of London Dental School and the University of Bolton. Rania now practices Facial Aesthetics 50% of her clinical time and she is a tutor for Dr Brian Franks; Facial Aesthetics courses, enabling delegates from Scotland to train locally.

Also known amongst her patients as the singing dentist Rania loves playing the piano but mostly singing, be it in a choir, as a soloist, in a band or in the surgery! In her free time, she spends quality time with her husband and their 3 years old son and travels as often as adult life allows it!

Diana Botero

Diana qualified in Spain in 2011 and has been working as a dental hygienist in Scotland since 2014. Through all these years, she has gained both experience and confidence. Diana enjoys building patient’s confidence up by making a nice smile on them. She focuses on oral hygiene as the key to have a healthy mouth and healthy teeth. Out of work, Diana enjoys watching series, going out for walks and spending time with her family.
